The Atlanta Opera's first offering of 2009 will be Giuseppe Verdi's Il trovatore on February 28, March 3, 6 and 8, 2009. Featuring the famous "Anvil Chorus" and many other memorable melodies, Il trovatore tells the story of two brothers, separated at birth, who are rivals for the same woman’s love. Making their company debuts will be soprano Angela Brown singing Leonora, Ewa Podles singing Azucena and Renzo Zulian singing Manrico. Guido LeBron, who sang Germont in the Atlanta Opera’s 2005 production of La traviata, returns as Count di Luna. Edoardo Müller will conduct. General production support has been provided by the Atlanta Music Festival Association and Ms. Alyce Williams Toonk.
