The Adjudication Process
Adjudicators evaluate how each participating high school musical meets or exceeds its potential utilizing its available resources. Each musical is evaluated and scored against itself for consideration, rather than against all other school productions, charging schools to create the best possible work in their unique circumstance and environment. The GHSMTA Category Criteria for Excellence, Adjudication Rubric, the Evaluative Tool, Evaluation Glossary, and Adjudication Handbook are available resources providing insight to the specific details, formulas and expectations that GHSMTA adjudicators use throughout the adjudication process.
Our Adjudication Objective
The main objective of the program is to provide Georgia high school theatre programs with feedback from undustry professionals who can provide external support and guidance while also serving as the directors' advocate in the advancement and growth of their programs. At the end of each season, each school receives the adjudication comments and scores on their production. This feedback is intended to serve as an educational tool for directors, faculty team members and students, not strictly a review or critique.
