Scholarship Opportunities
Each year, generous donors who are committed to theatre arts education grant scholarships to outstanding students participating in the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards (GHSMTA). Scholarships are typically valued between $500-$5,000. The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications thoroughly and selects recipients based on the student’s interest as well as the criteria required for each scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
We offer two types of scholarships:
• Cash Scholarships: Available to Shuler students in grades 9-12, with priority given to graduating seniors.
• Performing Arts Internships/Opportunities: These experience-based scholarships may range from one week to several weeks in duration and are available to students in grades 9-12.
Scholarships will be announced in mid-March.
NEW FOR THIS YEAR:
- Students can first register to receive updates on the scholarships that become available throughout the season and have the opportunity to weigh in on the types of scholarships they are most interested in. We culitvate a community list of scholarships with industry partners based on the community interest.
Students who wish to express interest and receive notifications or reminders when the application opens can complete the Scholarship Interest Form (link below).
- Expanded Eligibility: In line with our mission to provide impactful arts education, we are now opening these opportunities to all students seeking to enrich their training and lives through the arts, regardless of their college or career path.
- Once the scholarship application opens, students are able to select the exact scholarships that they'd like to be considered for based on their interest and availability. Having students part of the process ensures a successful and productive match between student and donor.
- Application Timeline: The official application can be found on the Acceptd platform and will open from Monday, February 1, 2027. Deadline for all scholarship application submissions is Friday, February 22, 2027.
